David Inmon (trumpet) works as an active freelance artist in the Chicago area.  He plays frequently with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera Orchestra.  He is principal trumpet of the Lake Forest Symphony Orchestra and section trumpet with the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra.  As a chamber artist, he is a member of the Millar Brass Ensemble and Tower Brass of Chicago and can be heard on many of their recordings.  He also performs with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic, Ravinia Festival Orchestra, Joffrey Ballet, Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Sinfonietta, Chicagoland Pops Orchestra, World Festival Orchestra, and Fulcrum Point New Music Project as a regular or substitute player.

As a freelance player he has had the privilege to accompany a wide variety of artists.  In popular music, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Naomi Judd, The Beach Boys, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, David Foster, Diana Ross, R. Kelley, Amy Grant, Art Garfunkel, Andrea Bocelli, Bernadette Peters and Kristin Chenoweth.  In jazz, Clark Terry, Dave Brubeck, and Doc Severinsen.  He has also performed several times on the Oprah Winfrey show with various guests and can be heard on playing on TV, radio, and internet commercials.  He has played on many recordings with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the very popular Mannheim Steamroller Christmas recordings.

While playing as an orchestral player, he has been able to perform under the baton of many world class conductors including: Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Meta, Kurt Musar, Mstislav Rostropovich, Charles Dutoit, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel, David Robertson, Bernard Haitink, Pierre Boulez, Semyon Bychkov as well as others.

David Inmon holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a specialization in Performance from Northwestern University.  His primary teachers were Vincent Cichowicz and Luther Didrickson.  He is an alumnus of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago where he learned from Adolph “Bud” Herseth and Mark Ridenour.  Before joining the faculty at University of Illinois in Chicago, David taught at Northeastern Illinois University for seven years.  In his free time he enjoys woodworking and hiking with his wife and three children.
